Professional Services
Forensic Evaluations Attorneys are encouraged to contact Evan Katz for assessments ranging from substance abuse evaluations and anger assessments to psychological evaluations and bio-psychosocial assessments.
Every evaluation, regardless of complexity, is discussed with the legal team and customized to meet the needs of the client. Evaluations are provided under the supervision of a licensed psychologist (if necessary) and provided either verbally or in written form. Reports are delivered on the date(s) they are promised. All reports are expected to be referenced during testimony, if necessary, and are thoroughly prepared for as such.
Mitigation Services
Mitigation Services are offered for State, Federal, Tribal, and International cases involving Mexico and the United States. Mr. Katz has worked on Capital Cases involving the Mexican Government, led investigations inside of Mexico, and participated in: tribal cases and numerous high level criminal cases.
Katz has provided mitigation services to clients who have faced sentencing for (including but not limited to): double-murder, accessory to murder, embezzlement, identity fraud, assault and battery, domestic violence, sexual assault, DUI (multiple offender), probation violations, and death penalty cases.
Katz has experience analyzing and consulting on pre-sentence investigation reports and is able to provide alternative PSI reports as requested.
His experience and expertise has been a valuable asset in his ability to forsee and strategize with defense teams. He has experience working with difficult clients and utilizes his skills in facilitating effective client/counsel communication. Katz’s case record as a mitigation specialist speaks for itself. Counseling Legal Clients Mr. Katz offers counseling before sentencing, while clients are out on bond, bail, or while they are on probation or parole. He has experience working with mandated clients and understands the complexities of those facing and having experienced jail and prison.
Katz is willing to provide written or verbal reports to either you or the court on behalf of your client, including a customized treatment plan, measurable progress notes, and recommendations based on the client’s progress in therapy. Given Katz’s specialized work with angry men, he is often seen as an expert by the court and is able to qualify as such.
DUI Services Evan Katz is a registered DUI Evaluator for the State of Georgia for both first time and multiple offenders. Mr. Katz includes in his assessments beyond that which is required by the State of Georgia (DUI Registry), including screening for depression, anxiety, and trauma - emotional states that may suggest a mental health disorder and influence the decision making processes as well as the overall mental health of your client.
Katz is certified as a Master Addiction Counselor by NAADAC, the highest substance abuse certification currently offered by this respected national organization. Evaluations can be formatted to your liking; all you have to do is ask.
Counseling Services Evan Katz has 12 years experience counseling adult and teen males with anger and substance abuse issues. He utilizes numerous techniques and interventions in both individual and group settings, including but not limited to: Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic techniques, Gestalt techniques, Reality therapy, and Rogerian techniques.
Sessions are available in one hour increments. Clients will be seen in jail or prison as needed, and in some instances, 24/7. Clients are educated regarding the counseling process. Results have been extraordinary working with clients that others have written off as “having no real feelings.”
Speaking and Media Engagements Evan Katz is available for public speaking engagements to a variety of organizations. He is versed in speaking before a few or a few hundred interested parties.
Presentations Topics range from anger to rage and all the facets of anger that characterize men in our culture. Other topics include: the death penalty, anger and its physiological effects on the body, workplace anger and violence, stress and anger, anger and depression, and other related topics.
